
This is the second quick drawing I did based on a painting by Max Hammond. Trying to make it my own, I used Prismacolor colored pencil instead of his rich oils. This is a small sketch about 6″ x 9″ that I finished in late January.

I’ve been looking at the work of Max Hammond and so enjoy the color, passion, strength and freedom of expression he pours into his work. I’ve been playing with his ideas and making them my own, while trying hard to loosen up and work more quickly. These small sketches are the result.
