A New Digital Painting Series

O- Stuart Davis

I’ve been going back to work on my Masters of Fine Arts with a focus on Graphic Design. This new series was part of my Advanced Typography class and it was intense and fun. I did a paper on contemporary artists who’s work incorporates typography. then I pulled small pieces out of their paintings to do paintings of my own. Ended up doing all 26 letters of the alphabet. This was done in Adobe Sketch and you can see the process at:

Winery Road finds a home

Jim O’Donnell as he brings Winery Road to it’s new home.

Very thankful to have Winery Road in the collection of Jim and Amber O’Donnell. I’ve worked with Jim for years and was delighted that he chose this piece to hang in his home. This piece was painted during a trip with a large group of friends to Washington Missouri. We all stopped on the side of the road to get our photo taken and I saw this view and took a lot of photos of the area. Then went back into my studio to paint this image in acrylic on canvas. This same image was also used on a wine label for Collver Family Winery in Barry Illinois.

Working in Sequim, Washington

During the month of June, I spent two weeks with a good friend and we got a lot of art work done in her studio behind the house. Here is a sample of both of our projects as they were in process. It’s funny we were both working on nests of different sorts. Hers was a carving and mine a painting I’ve been wanting to work on for quite awhile. I finished it while I was there.
