This is the second quick drawing I did based on a painting by Max Hammond. Trying to make it my own, I used Prismacolor colored pencil instead of his rich oils. This is a small sketch about 6″ x 9″ that I finished in late January.

This is a small sketch that I did on location of the Hood Canal. I was sitting near a look out tower, but it was too hot to paint up there. So I sat at the bench at the bottom of the tower. While there a young family visited. That is the two boy’s forms in the drawing.
During the month of June, I spent two weeks with a good friend and we got a lot of art work done in her studio behind the house. Here is a sample of both of our projects as they were in process. It’s funny we were both working on nests of different sorts. Hers was a carving and mine a painting I’ve been wanting to work on for quite awhile. I finished it while I was there.
